Dueling Books

The Last Dragon Book Four is coming along slower than anticipated because of another book I'm working on. The Dragon Clan Series never concluded because there seemed more to tell. However, it was feeling repetitive and needed time to percolate in my mind for where it should go.

Setting aside all the obvious answers, and without revealing any spoilers, the Dragon Clan lost the war with Breslau. (sorry) Three generations later, the remnants of the Dragon Clan are scattered far to the east. However, it seems Breslau may again be expanding their territory and moving east.

The new series has more of an adult theme, the characters are older, however I hope to keep the parts of the first series that you enjoyed intact. Several questions about the first war have been resolved and I feel better about that.

When inspiration about the Dragon Clan is short, I move to The Last Dragon, which is nearly half finished and it goes deeper into the characters of Damon and Kendra than the earlier ones, explaining more of their inner feelings and resolving several issues. Damon becomes more of a key figure, and the dragon does too. I see where it's going and am anxious to get there, but don't want to skip the buildup.

I have at my side a dozen sheets of printed suggestions from readers, what they would like to see, what they didn't like in the last books, and so many good ideas that I will not be able to use all of them (in this book, but maybe the next?) I have to thank them for every suggestion. Sometimes they are not a good fit now, but they often springboard me to others. If you have something to say, use my personal email which is leroy.clary@gmail.com

I always enjoy hearing what you have to say.
